Dr. K. Indraratna is the senior most Consultant at SJGH. He joined SJGH in 1992. He has been a Board Certified Consultant for the past 30 years. He obtained his overseas training from Oldchurch Hospital, London Chest, Royal Brompton, UK He has worked as a Consultant Anaesthetist at the Cardiac Unit, at the NHSL before joining the SJGH. He is the Head, Faculty of Critical Care, College of Anaesthesiologists of Sri Lanka and President-Elect-College of Anaesthesiologists of Sri Lanka for 2015.
He has published scientific review articles in- Trends in Anesthesia and Critical Care in June 2012 and December 2013, Lancet - Respiration - May, 2014. He was 1st in MD part I and part II examinations in Anesthesiology. He has won LMV Attygalle Prize 1986 B.S. perera Oration 2003. He is a member of the Board of Study in Anaethesiology. Currently he serves as member of the SJGH board.
She obtained her overseas training from Lancashire Teaching Hospital and Leeds NHS in the United Kingdom. She joined Sri Jayewardenepura General Hospital in 2009 and has been a Board Certified Consultant Microbiologist for the past 19 years. She has worked in Teaching Hospital Kurunegala and NIHS Kalutara as a Consultant Microbiologist before joining SJGH. She has held the office of Secretary, Sri Lanka College of Microbiologist. She joined SJGH in 2009. She served as the secretary of the Sri Lanka College of Microbiologists for a period of 3 years. She is a member of the board of study in medical microbiology in the PGIM and the coordinator for post MD training. She was awarded the President-s award for scientific publication in 2014.

He obtained his overseas training at Harold wood Hospital Romford, St. Bartholomew Hospital London and Leeds General Infirmary, Leeds in the United Kingdom. He has been a Board Certified Consultant Obstetrician and Gynecologist for the last 22 years having worked in Teaching Hospital Mahamoadara and Base Hospitals Panadura, Embilipitiya and Balangoda. He joined SJGH in 2008. He has been a council member of Sri Lanka College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists and is the Treasurer Elect of the SLCOG for 2015. He was also the Academic Secretary of Sri Lanka Menopause Society in 2012 and received the Presidential Award for Scientific Research in 2013.
He is an alumnus of the faculty of Medicine, University of Colombo. He underwent his postgraduate training in professorial units of the Colombo North Teaching Hospital Ragama and Lady Ridgeway Hospital for children Colombo 08. After qualifying in MD Paediatrics he received his foreign training from the Frimley Park Hospital, Frimley, Surrey, England and at the Nepean Teaching Hospital, Kingswood, Sydney, Australia. Upon his return to Sri Lanka he worked at District General Hospital Gampaha for two years, covering up duties in the Paediatric ward for one year and thereafter as consultant OPD. Thereafter he was appointed to Base Hospital Tissamaharama, where during his tenure the unit was given a whole new outlook with the latest equipment added to the clinic, ward and the NICU. He has been a Board Certified Consultant since 2016.
Dr. Neranjana Vithanage heads the Biochemistry Lab of SJGH. The Biochemistry lab provides essential investigatons for inward and outpatient care, and is equipped with the latest analysers to provide accurate reports in minimal duration.
She obtained her overseas training at John Radcliffe Hospital, Oxford, United Kingdom. She joined Sri Jayewardenepura General Hospital in 1995. She has been a Board Certified Consultant Cardiologist for 28 years. She was the President of Ceylon College of Physicians in 2009. She is a Life member of Sri Lanka Heart Association, SLMA and CCP. She was awarded the Rajasuriya prize for Clinical Medicine in 1985. She received the John Stokes Gold Medal for best performance in MD (Medicine) part II examination. She has published many articles in peer reviewed journals e.g. Annals of Thoracic Surgery. The Heart and British Medical Journal. She is Chief Examiner for the MD (Medicine) selection examination, a clinical examination for the MD (Medicine) part Il examination and the Final MBBS examination in the faculty of Medicine University of Colombo and Faculty of Medical Sciences, University of Sri Jayewardenepura. Dr. Niroshan Senevirtne is the Resident Specialist Urological Surgeon of SJGH. He joined SJGH in 2013. He has been a Board Certified Consultant for the past 09 years. He has obtained his overseas training from Royal Free Hospital London, UK. He has worked at Teaching Hospital Anuradapura before joining Sri Jayewardenepura General Hospital. He is the editor of Nephrology Urology Transplant Society. He has published 12 papers (BMJ, CMJ, SLJS, and SLJUS) and presented 65 Abstracts on his scientific research.
